The list of places to stay is available here.
Our platform lists all the refuges and guesthouses that are members of the Association des Gardiens du Tour du Mont-Blanc. If a place to stay does not appear, it is not part of the association and therefore cannot be booked through our website. There are other refuges in the Mont-Blanc area that are not TMB members: we invite you to contact them directly.
Booking takes just a few steps: create your account, choose your date, starting point, type of accommodation and number of hikers, compare availability, then pay the deposit.
You can find the General Terms and Conditions as well as insurance information here.
Route, walking times, gear, good practice in the mountains: find all our advice for preparing your trek.
The TMB is a mid-mountain trek accessible to anyone in good physical condition, with previous hiking experience and appropriate training beforehand. It requires good endurance to walk 5 to 8 hours a day for several consecutive days. It is also important to train with an 8 to 10 kg rucksack. The elevation gain is significant throughout the trek: every day there is a pass to climb and descend.
It is advisable not to neglect your TMB preparation, both in terms of the length of the stages and your physical fitness. Good physical preparation will make the trek feel easier and let you fully enjoy the surrounding nature and landscapes, and savour a break at the top rather than simply enduring the effort.
The Tour du Mont-Blanc generally takes 7 to 12 days depending on your pace. Experienced hikers can complete the classic route in 7 days. A 9 or 10-day itinerary is suitable for regular hikers and allows more time to enjoy the scenery.
The essentials: a 30 to 50-litre rucksack, broken-in hiking boots, a three-layer clothing system, trekking poles, water bottle, head torch, first-aid kit and emergency blanket, IGN “Tour du Mont-Blanc” map, GPS,.... (see our Check-List). If you are staying in a dormitory, a sleeping bag liner, earplugs and a towel will be your friends.
